Hi,
I do not like open plan layouts. I never have.
When we were house hunting it was often difficult to find houses that hadnt had their lounge and diner opened out together or even some unfortunate cases where the kitchen, diner and living room were all the same room or L shaped room.
Our dining room and kitchen is opened up (and was when we moved in) but because we dont have a massive house, its not too open.
I couldnt have the living room and dining room as one room. I like cosy rooms. I like to have the doors shut off to the kitchen and I like to have hallways. We used to see hallways which had been knocked through to make the living room bigger or rooms that were open to the stairs.
I dont want all the business of the kitchen affecting my living room experience. I have very soft lights in the living room but the kitchen is quite bright.
I also dont understand how people function without a number of walls in the house to put radiators and furniture up against.
Are you a fan?
Please help.
